Sam Moore

Sam Moore manages the firm’s privacy practice and corporate practice groups.

He has counseled and advised hundreds of clients through substantive legal issues involving business representation, data protection and privacy, criminal law, civil litigation, military law, and consumer protection law. He provides his clients with broad and substantial legal experience. He takes a common-sense approach to each case, with a focus on client goals and broader strategic implications.

Outside of the courtroom, he participates in numerous charity and fundraising activities in the Washington, D.C., and Northern Virginia communities. He is a member of the Alexandria Chamber of Commerce, the Alexandria, Post 24 American Legion, and STEM Flights among other organizations. He remains committed to the community through his pro bono activity and he continues to serve in the military as a United States Marine Corps reservist, teaching as an adjunct professor at the United States Naval Academy.

Prior to starting the practice, Mr. Moore served as an active-duty Judge Advocate in the United States Marine Corps. He litigated an array of misdemeanor and felony courts-martial. He also spent three years as an appellate counsel in Washington, D.C., handling a full case load and managing nine appellate attorneys in their case development.

Mr. Moore developed curriculum and frequently taught advanced criminal justice courses to military prosecutors in California, Rhode Island, and Washington, D.C. He also deployed to Afghanistan as Rule of Law Adviser, working with Afghan attorneys, investigators, and judges to help foster an active justice system in Eastern Afghanistan.

Mr. Moore graduated from the University of Richmond School of Law, cum laude, and from the University of Florida with a B.A. in history. He also studied history at the University of Cambridge, England. To find out more about his services, contact the office today.

Awards and Recognition

Sam Moore was awarded the Avvo 2019 Clients’ Choice Award. The National Trial Lawyers Top 40 Under 40 recognized Sam for membership in 2019. He is also Martindale-Hubbell peer reviewed.

In 2021, Sam Moore became a Certified Information Privacy Professional United States, as recognized by the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP).
